What's with the crutches?

So, a few of you have asked,"What's with the crutches?"...well, as many of you know we have had a heck of a time with broken bones and Cody...actually, at age 15 he has broken 7 bones. Anyway, here is the drama. Cody broke his wrist last year in the second week of basketball requiring surgery and 3 pins. Out for the season. Then over the summer he breaks his foot playing ball...luckily it's the summer and he has time to heal. Fall comes and basketball starts again. Two weeks in at our first tournament Cody turns wrong on his foot and asks to be pulled out...Well here I am, the competitive mom, thinking, "ARE YOU CRAZY! You don't ever ask the coach to pull you out of the game! Don't you want playing time?!" Then my poor son looks over at me as says, "Mom, I think I broke my foot again." Well after many doctor visits, xrays, and surgery involving a titanium rod, he is out for another season. He's been taking it well but he wants to play so bad. Three months between being in a wheelchair and walking on crutches can wear a person out. Hopefully we are on the road to recovery and he will have a few good years of healthy bones with no breaks!

Payt and Chewy

Okay, so I am on the computer while Payton is taking a nap and I hear the back door open and shut....well, I thought she was sleeping. Payton loves Chewy. And here I found them "playing" together.
And, this is a picture of Paytons "girls"...I don't know if any of you ever had imaginary friends but they are real. How do I know this?...try to argue with your child that they are taking a picture of a door when they know it is a picture of their "girls". I have even had to put them in the grocery cart for her. And, believe me, you feel a little silly in the store lifting imaginary friends into the seat of a grocery cart just to avoid an all out fit.

Newest Member of our Family

We got a new puppy for Christmas this year. Cody fell in love with this little pooch the day he was born. Our friends Beagles had puppies and we heard about it every day until we caved in and got Cody what he wanted. His name is Chewy...after Star Wars 'Chewbaka'. It suits him well anyway since he is teething right now! He is entertaining for Payton right now as well. They keep each other busy. She likes to boss him around...which is something she likes to try to do to everyone!

Family

Okay, so this 'blog' stuff is sooo new to me! I don't have the craziest life, the most interesting life, or even much to say, but I hope that I can share a little glimpse of what me and my family may experience from day to day....okay, so maybe not day to day, maybe just once in a while...
